Great hotel with free wifi, cute bar area, and a lovely restaurant. I remember when the staff helped me find delicious food on my first stay. Their friendliness. I'll be back for Christmas!

our stay at the hillthwaite was fantastic! we enjoyed 7 nights in a classic double room that was perfectly clean and comfortable. the meals were delicious and always piping hot, especially the evening dinner. the singer on thursday night was a delightful touch that really engaged the audience. and it’s just a short walk to freshen up after a day of exploring!

drinks were a bit pricey, but it was quickly resolved.

Our two-night stay was delightful, especially with the stunning views over Bowness from our room and the overall cleanliness of the place. The staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. While the breakfast could have had larger portions, the quality and service were excellent. The location is perfect, just a short walk away from attractions and the countryside.

My stay in the Classic Double Room was an absolute dream! I loved lounging by the indoor swimming pool, soaking up the relaxing vibe right after a delicious meal that was bursting with flavor. The views from the dining room overlooking the mountains and lake were simply breathtaking!

The panoramic views from our room were breathtaking, and the complimentary chocolates for our anniversary were a lovely touch. we found the bathroom cleanliness lacking, with dust in several areas.

Had a fab 7-night stay here. The views were absolutely stunning and our room was so comfy and spacious, totally loved it! The staff were super friendly, especially Jackie and Lauretta, they made us feel right at home. Breakfast was on point! Just a bit of a walk to the lake, but totally worth it for the scenery.

I had a fantastic stay with my partner in a Classic Plus room, where we were greeted with breathtaking views of the lake. The decor beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, making our stay feel special. The staff were warm and welcoming, particularly Jackie and Lauretta at reception, who made us feel right at home. Although the dining service was generally good, there were a couple of minor mishaps with our orders which could use some improvement.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a good selection, though some items could've been hotter. Room provided ample space with comfortable chairs. The bed was cozy, and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water. I found the heating in the bathroom a bit excessive, especially given the warm weather during my stay. The soundproofing wasn't ideal. I could hear people moving in the room above me, which disrupted my sleep a couple of times. having to pre-book breakfast felt too regimented, making the experience less relaxing than I hoped. a lovely stay but a few adjustments could make it even better.
